Juliet is in quite a pickle! How do you feel about her situation? Should she be able to marry Paris? Why or why not? What advice would you give her? Tell us!
I really dont think she should marry Paris, because if she is really in love with Romeo like Shakespeare is telling us why would she ever do that to him. If i was in love and married to someone and he went to jail i wouldnt remarry just because he was in trouble.
If i was her friend, i would tell her to do what she feels is right. Does she want to betray her father? Or does she want to make sure she is happy, and only be with Romeo? i couldnt make the decision for her.
I believe that she should be able to marry Paris. However, in the context of the story it is obvious that she will not. In the entire conversation between the Nurse and Juliet, where the Nurse is egging her on, trying to convince her to marry Paris, Juliet is voicing her own fears to the marriage. Juliet feels that because she has already married once, to the man that holds her heart, and that God in his infinite knowledge would know this, that he would frown on a marriage that even Juliet herself cannot justify. I personally would tell her to do one of two things. Either come clean and tell her parents about the marriage between her and Romeo and face the wrath of her entire family and perhaps disownment from her father, or take as many possessions as she can with her and run to Mantua to be with Romeo, living her life as a pauper.
If Juliet had no other choice and she HAD to marry Paris or else her family would be super mad at her and her life would be all bad after, then she should be ABLE to marry Paris. But I think it should be her choice, and I really don't think she should marry him. I think either way (if she tells her parents straight out about Romeo or if she refused to marry Paris) her parent's would be extremely mad at her although she thinks she has it all figured out after act four.
Her situation wouldnt be so bad if she just told her family about Romeo in the first place. She should not be able to marry Paris due to her and Romeo already being married. She always is speaking of dying for him so why go and marry Paris?
DONT BE AFFRAID! JUST TELL THE WORLD THAT YOUR LOVE FOR ROMEO IS EVERLASTING!
I think Juliet should be allowed to marry paris, but it seems if she doesn't marry paris her parents will be super mad. We all know that if it was her own choice she wouldn't marry Paris, because she just doesn't care for him and she is already married to Romeo.Actually Juliet should probably just go ahead and tell her parents about her and Romeo's marriage, either way they're going to be angry with her.
i do not think juliet should marry paris. if your not in love with someone then marrying them would be completely pointless. not only that but because shes in love with romeo and is clearly already married to him. so juliet would be breaking the law and if the wrong people found out then she could get in serious trouble. juliet should just stay faithful to romeo (even though we already know she does):)
if she marrys Paris, Romeo wouldnt really ever find out until he is welcome back. But seeing from the way she reacted i dont think she should. She clearly loves him too much. And wouldnt settle even for anyone other than him.
No she should not marry Paris. not only would it be wrong because she already loves another man and lost her virginity to him, but back then religion was very important to the people, and you were only allowed to have one husband or wife, and with divorce being considered wrong, i would tell her NOT to marry paris because its what isnt allowed. Also if she really and truly does love Romeo, she wouldnt be able to handle forgetting about him for someone else.
I think that nowadays, there'd be no question that Juliet should marry Romeo. Back then, however, you'd have to think about what things were like. Juliet logically should go ahead and marry Paris. Of course, absolutely nothing in this story makes sense. So as most people are saying, Juliet should marry Romeo. If I was in a position to give her advice, I'd tell her to go with her heart feeling. Whether or not I knew what her heart feeling was, that would be my advice to her because no matter what conditions you live in, it's better to be happy with bad conditions than unhappy with good conditions. My opinion: marry Romeo and run away as far as you can.
I think that juliet should not marry paris. She already has a husband who she "loves". It would not be fair to him to go ahead and marry some one else. He did not choose to get banished and more than likely was planning a way to come see her often or to be with her. Imagine if Romeo came back to visit and saw Juliet in her room with another man. It would be awful and not fair to him.
If i was freinds wit juliet i would tell her to do what she thinks is best. I know i hate when my friends say that to me when I need advice but its true. There are plus and minuses to both situations. If she marrys paris there will be some good and bad as well as if she doesnt. She is the one who has to live with whatever choice she makes. It is just whatever she can deal with. If she cant deal with making her dad unhappy then she should marry paris. But if she can and knows she wont be happy unless she is with romeo she should just go be with him.
I believe that juliet should not be able to marry paris. Yet i believe that all things considered that she should agree to do so for no reason other than to appease her parents. i would tell her to simply agree to marry paris but once the wedding day is upon them confess and tell of her secret love and say she simply cant go through with it.
I think Juliet should not be able to marry Paris. But back in those days your parents have to choose who you marry. But if she truly loves Romeo then she should go with him. Most of the time if you really love someone then you don't care about anything or what anyone says. There had to be some people who didn't always marry who their parents said to marry. But if Paris was the last guy, then i would marry him just so you could have a some what happy life and not be alone for the rest of your life.
I dont think she should be able to marry Paris because she is already married to Romeo and back in that time you couldn't dissvorce. Also she is already in love with romeo so i think she wouldnt want to marry Paris anyway even if she would get in trouble for admitting she married Romeo
