Consider all that has occurred in Act II, which has mostly been made up of conversations between various characters usually involving the marriage of our title characters.
Write a lengthy (2 paragraphs-ish or so) journal in the voice of a major characterof your choice based on any or all of these things that the character has been involved with. Be specific and consider the character's personality. I should be able to recognize who you are portraying through your journal.
*Some of the journal responses were pretty short last time. I'm going to be more strict on it this time.*

Today I met Romeo. He didnt make a very good first impression when him and his friends made fun of me. At first he didnt realize who i was, but know he knows.. I talked to him about getting married to the young Juliet, and told him i would get someone at the church by nine o'clock.
ReplyDeleteJuliet sent me to talk to Romeo, it took me three long hours; but i finally made it back out of breath. All Juliet could think about was, "what did romeo say?" all i would do was change the subject.
When going to meet Romeo and arrange his and Juliet's marriage, I was very displeased. Romeo and his friends made fun of me, but Peter says that this did not happen. I'm sure Juliet could do MUCH better, and Paris is a better suitor, but I've seen how happy Romeo makes Juliet. Just by this simple fact, I will approve of their marriage. I clearly saw that both Romeo and Juliet are sincere in their feelings and are both very much serious about this sudden marriage. When I delivered the news to Juliet about Romeo saying yes to the marriage, she was impatient, and all she could ask was what did he say. So now, at 9 o'clock, after taking Juliet to the church for 'confession' I shall go fetch a rope ladder to hang outside Juliet's window for their wedding night. Then, Juliet and Romeo will be married and both children will be very happy I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI had to see my Friar of the Church early this morning. I tire of no sleep, but my love for Juliet sustains me. When we are wed, I shall be the happiest man alive, and I will forevermore be content. Perhaps with endurance, Juliet and I will persevere and make our parents understand our love. The Capulet's and my own family need not fued on a long lost subject, of which is of no importance in today's events. Must Juliet and I hide our love forever, or will we be able to come clean eventually.
ReplyDeleteI hope that one day, I will be able to walk down the street freely with Juliet at my side. She is my inspiration, my devotion, my life. I shall always be a part of her and carry her within my heart. Need I think now of dire comings, of what is deep in the pit of my stumach. A deep foreboding for my life, but I know not what I can do to stop fate from fulfilling it's desire. If fate intends me to die, I hope it be in the arms of my love.
I don't really get this Romeo character. First he is "in love" with Rosaline and now he claims to be in love with this Juliet he speaks so much of. I can't tell when his love for a lady is pure or unpure. At first he thought he was in love with Rosaline, but it was just beauty, and now he claims to be in love with Juliet. How do I know if it is not just beauty again. It worries me that he is making too many decisions too fast. And, on top of that, He is a Montague and the fair Juliet is a Capulet. This can only turn out bad for the two because of their fueding families. But if young Romeo wants me to marry him and this Juliet, then I give them my blessings and wish them a fair life together.

Juliet said she would send someone for me... O wait theres someone maybe it's her. I better act like i don't know this person so my friends don't have any knowing of me loving Juliet and not Rosaline. So me and Juliet are getting married.. Yea!

My own mother doesnt even know how old i am. Im raised by the nurse. it was her nipple i sucked on. I kissed a boy i met after 30 seconds and now im madly in love with him. Im supposed to hate him but i find that impossible. i thought i wanted to stay single forever. but now that i met him i know there isnt any chance of that. Romeo showed up under my balcony and we talked for a long time . i know i wanna marry him . hes definitely the one for me. im going to send my nurse after him tomorrow to get all the plans arranged. she bettere hurry up . idk what ill do if he doesnt wanna marry me. hes my one and only. ohh gosh. shes back. he said yes were getting married!
ReplyDeleteFinally, shes here, why else would someone be looking for me. Its the Nurse, i was with my budddies so i had to put on an act but now that there gone i have reason to be real, and nice. I hope i made the right impression on the Nurse. After talking I made my way to the Friar. Im very excited to be married, only because no one can break us apart after we are finished here. Too bad i cant tell anyone, oh well its only for the best, its what i must do to protect us both from what will happen if our families will find out. I love Juliet so much im willing to do anything for her.

Ok as i sit outside waiting to hear my loves voice to echo out through the orchard,as i speak about how the i love to hear her voice. But she does not know that im the one out here spilling out the my feelings over her.
ReplyDeleteAfter her voice is heard i step out from behind the bush and let her see that im the one she is speaking of to herself. As soon as she seen me we talk about how i have given her my love already and that she didnt know that all my love was hers. But soon i found out that her love was the same for me.
We soon planed that she would send someone to me the next day to talk about the place and time we will be married. But the problem was was that juliet is an enemy of my family, that if we get married that our families will never over come the fact that they are fighting

ReplyDeleteIm off to find the Friar at the church this early morning. I havent slept at all this night, for the love for Juliet keeps me awake, and the suspense of my wedding eats at me. I am eager to see my dear Juliet, but yet fear of getting caught by her family. Being apart from my Juliet would be utter torture to my young soul. I only hope that the wedding will be as secretive as we would like it to be, and that the nurse does not utter any word of this to Lord and Lady Capulet.
ReplyDeleteBanished! this is terrible news! Now i must find away to either avoid being banished or hope that Juliet will come and join me. I mean i only killed Tybalt because he killed my dear friend Mercutio, revenge may not have been worth getting banished from my Juliet.
Im not sure if i should tell the houses about romeo and juliet wanting to get married. I guess i wont because it could help things out.
ReplyDeleteI jus married two young lovers romeo and juliet but no one seems to know so im not sure if they will ever let it out. they have too eventually i wonder what will happen. I guess we will wait and see how things pan out. Only me the nurse romeo and juliet know. I surely couldnnt get in trouble for marrying two lovers.
That Romeo! One minute he is sulking over the dear Rosaline and how he can't obtain his dear Rosaline, and the next minute he's all about his newfound love with Juliet! This boy can't make up his mind on who he loves. I bet there will be another girl come along here shortly that will leave Juliet in the dust.
ReplyDeleteI will give Romeo credit though. Juliet is a fair lady if I do say so myself. I hope he realizes the consequences if his and her families find out they are together in holly matramony. This could easily get them both killed, but I guess that's what love is about. Considering I'm not allowed to love or get married for that matter.
Romeo always comes to me for advice and when he asked me to marry him and Juliet I was worried that he was rushing into it. He was just in love with Rosaline the other day and quickly fell out of that so who knows how long it will take him to fall out of love with Juliet. I bet there is a theory for this...
ReplyDeleteI support Romeo's decisions and i cant make him feel differently so i'll just go along with it. I am a man of god and i need to explain to Romeo the importance of the spiritual bonding called marriage. Juliet will be sneaking over later. I hope these youngsters have a happy marriage.
i am to be married to juliet today and she is quite attractive and so so very loving she is. I hope that her family doesnt find out for i would be murdered.
ReplyDeleteI am married to Romeo but my parents do not know. They asked me to marry Paris and i beg them no but my father cursed me with words of hate and death for my plead. They hate Romeo for murdering Tybalt even though if Romeo didn't kill Tybalt it would have been the other way around.
