There are many lessons that you could apply to today’s world one of them is the importance of honesty and the applicability of this lesson was show when Juliet had kept from her parents the fact that she loved Romeo and not telling them that led to the death of Paris, Romeo, and herself. Another lesson learned in the play is why a grudge or a feud is not a thing that should be kept that walls need to be broken down. i clearly say this multiple times during the play one such example was during the death of Mercutio i found myself thinking why i mean this is very pointless because the families don’t even remember the feud.
I think the main lesson that could be taken from the play is 'Don't wait until tragedy strikes to solve your problems.' I think that maybe that could be applied to wars. I mean, if all the countries just tried to communicate with each other and not hate each other for really no reason at all (with certain exceptions), then I think quite a few wars could've been avoided. And with some wars, they sign a peace treaty AFTER a lot of lives have been lost. Which that's sort of like Romeo and Juliet. Sometimes it takes a bunch of chaos and lives lost for two countries to think 'wow, this needs to stop.' In the play, it took Romeo and Juliet to lose their lives for the two families to think 'wow, this needs to stop.'
You have to comment early on this one or people will steal your thoughts, I guess... Kelsey. =D Anyways another thing that can be learned from this is that you need to get over a grudge or fight you have with somebody. This fact would relieve much of the stress I have in life. I believe maturity is proven by somebody's ability to leave things in the past. Going by this, obviously plenty of people aren't at all mature. In Romeo and Juliet, the Montague and Capulet families display a lack of maturity. Unfortunately, it takes the death of their only children to make them realize that. Death isn't necessary to figure that out though. People should apply this lesson in maturity to everyday life.
A lesson you can get from romeo and juliet and use today is not to do things behind your parents backs. It doesnt matter whether telling them or not telling them is going to get you in trouble. Somehow/someday your parents ARE going to find out. even if your dead, their gonna find out, and the best way to stay out of lots of trouble is to tell them before they find out from someone else and get mad because YOU werent the one to tell them.
In my oppinion, the main idea coming from this play was that chance can control your life if you let it. This can be applied to today's society because there are many people out there who wait for a promotion while other more industrious people take the opportunities and ask for one. In other words, even though Romeo and Juliet attempted to take control over their lives, no matter what, Romeo would alway go back to stating that it was in fate's hands, not his.
I believe that the lesson is live life to its fullest and be honest. People should be more open minded. Just because others are having problems with certian people doesnt mean you will. We should all talk to our parents too. If you cant talk to your parents how many other people are you going to hide things from??? ALL THIS TIME SPENT BY ROMEO AND JULIET LYING AND HIDING THEY COULD OF SPENT WITH EACH OTHER!!! Thats what I feel is given by this book.
I believe the lesson is to never try to hide the biggest secrets because sooner or later it will all resurface and cause a bigger mess. I mean look what happened to Romeo and Juliet, Romeo killed some people and was banished after he and Juliet got married. Then Juliet drank some stuff that made her appear to be dead. It all lead up to the two killing themselves all because they couldn't talk to their parents considering the fued happening between them.
I think the biggest lesson is to not hold things against people. The Capulets and Montagues held something they forgot about against each other. Romeo and Juliet loved each other but they couldn't show it because they were supposed to hate each other.
I think that you could be more honest and maybe thigs wouldnt happen. Like Romeo and Juliet could have been honest and told their parents that they were getting married. Possibly, all this stuff wouldn't happen. And you should think before you act. Like Romeo in the fight, if he wouldn't have killed a person he would be banned. There are several more lessons that could be used.
I think the biggest lesson is whether you choose to take chances for something you want or to not take chances. Because throughout the story there were a lot of chances taken
I think that the lesson taught in this story is to love your enemies. Because if you think about all the Problems, it ties around the fueding between the two families. If the families weren't fighting, then they wouldn't have to keep it a secret (meaning their love) and nothing would've gone extremely wrong the way it did.
