Consider all that has occurred in Act I: the brawl, the Prince's punishment, the conversations between characters, Capulet's party, new acquaintances, etc.
Write a lengthy (2 paragraphs-ish or so) journal in the voice of a major characterof your choice based on any or all of these things that the character has been involved with. Be specific and consider the character's personality. I should be able to recognize who you are portraying through your journal.

I am so rich and i hate the montagues. I am so rich in fact, that i dont have to take care of my daughter myself. My nurse doest everything for me. She even nipple fed my daughter because i dont have time for such things. The only person that knows anything about Juliet is my nurse.

That is how little i knowst about my own daughter! So she will be 14 very soon? Oh Juliet, is there a possibility of thou even talking to this Paris figure? He wants to court thou!
Perhaps, one day, the fair Rosaline will take notice of me. She may see my devotion and love of her beauty. Should she reconsider her decision, my heart lay open to her love. I shall await her until my dying breath, for I shall never see so much beaty in one individual as I see in her. Although she has decided to exclude her fair beauty from all posterity, a decision which shall affect the beauty o the world at large, I shall desire her the same.
ReplyDeleteMaybe lady capulet should pay attention to her daughter more instead of I. Ive done everything i could for young Juliet. Ive even nipple fed her. a child that is not my own has fed off my nipple. it is terrible to know that her mother cant feed her own child. I even remember when she fell right on her brow. oh how that hurt her. Im the one that remembers how old she is, not her mother .
ReplyDeleteRomeo is so naive if he thinks this girl is going to love him. There are more fish in the sea. I, Mercutio, have never experienced problems with the ladies and am completely happy. His problem is he's stuck in this dream about LOVE and HAPPINESS. Trust me, if he does what i say, Rosaline will be the last girl on his mind. She probably won't be on his mind at all.
ReplyDeleteTime passes as Juliet grows older. Juliet shall be able to be married soon. When? I am not sure. The nurse can perfectly recall young Juliet's life, and tells me that soon Juliet's birthday shall approach. A fortnight and a few days, to be exact. I want the best for my daughter, and I know Paris is a perfect gentleman. Once Juliet can see past any hesitations she may have about the betrothal and marriage, she'll spend her days contentedly.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I thought I loved her. Rosaline was gorgeous and all, but I didn't even know her. I was always so down and depressed and thought my world was about to come to an end. Now I met Juliet and within a minute or two, I already know all I need to know about her: She's a good kisser and she's beautiful. (Starts singing "What Is Love-Haddaway" in head.)
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that I know my entire family would disapprove of me and her being together. Not only would my family, but so would hers. I know this will be a huge stumbling block to our relationship, but I'm absolutely willing to do anything I can to be with her.
Dude, this rosaline chick is super hot and i really hope that she notices me at this party coming up. I really think i'm in love but im sort of depressed that she doesn't even know me. i just really hope that once she sees me, she will notice the type of guy i am. I mean... she has to right... i'm a beast!

OMG!!!! will you just get over this chick?? There are other girls out there. He needs to lighten up and live life like me. I just go as I am and chicks loooooove me. Like this girl was really going to like him when she barely even knows him.! Hopefully this party will make this guy lighten up. He just needs to move on and get with another girl.

I want to marry her right now but her father doesnt believe its the right time. He doesnt think she is ready. But before i can marry her i have to win her over. If i do win her over i have a good chance at an earlier wedding.

People are dancing and having fun, a brawl would spoil the celebration. Paris wants to marry my daughter Juliet but she isnt even fourteen yet. maybe when she is sixteen or so i think she will be ready. But, if Juliet agrees to marry him i will let it happen.

ReplyDeleteThen on the day of a great party i saw this guy, he pretty much got me at hello. His name i do not know of but i will soon find out. . . Back in the room talking to the nurse and my mother i found out that i just kissed one of my family's enemy's, Romeo the one i kissed is the son of Montague.
If i only I could get Rosaline to notice me. She i the one i love. Her face is so beautiful, i dont think anything could come between me loving her. It hurts to know that she doesnt love me as much as i love her. I hope she understands and appreciates my undying love for her. I would be so good to her. I dont want any other women none are as beautiful as rosaline. There will NEVER be another that i love as i love rosaline.

My own mother doesnt even know how old i am. Im raised by the nurse. it was her nipple i sucked on. I kissed a boy i met after 30 seconds and now im madly in love with him. Im supposed to hate him but i find that impossible. i thought i wanted to stay single forever. but now that i met him i know there isnt any chance of that.

Rosaline is so beautiful. I wish I could be with her. I'm not going to be happy until I'm with Rosaline. Hopefully at this party I can get with Rosaline and talk to her. No one is as good as Rosaline.
